BQBY40???

Terzah did it!!!
Chicago Marathon 3:44:06!!!!

I was compulsively tracking my Chicago runners all morning. While driving home from my own run I missed Terzah's call - ANGST!!! The voicemail message was very garbled but the one thing that came through as clear as a bell was "I did it!" Of course, I just kept redialing until we were able to talk - or rather I screamed at her.

I know she’ll be putting a race report together soon - I’ll twist her arm and make her let me post it here.

And a super 'Barbaric YAWP' to Tara who made her marathon PR!!!

Tara and Terzah pre kick ass victory!!!

Whew, don’t have anything better to top that!!!

I'm great. Fall weather out here has been positively delicious - what every runner in Colorado has been waiting all year for.

Life is grand.

Happy trails!

    1. Love it!!! It was going to happen, no doubt about it! LOL, I was running the last half of a friend's 16 miler while Terzah was running. My ITB was really tight so I kept taking breaks and sending Katie ahead on short out and backs while I stretched it out ... I did more refreshing than stretching. Very naughty ... but what can you do?

Love, love, LOVE that you could be there for her. Makes it all the more special! Thanks for arranging the excellent weather!

  4. Yay Terzah! Now that she has BQ'd, I asked her if she would revive the blog - no go. Shucks. And you are right - Life is good. I am really liking your closing words: Happy trails. Love it! :-)

  5. I am easily as happy for her as I've been about any athletic accomplishment I've managed for myself. What a great feeling to have followed the journey and see Terzah meet that goal!

  7. Aw, Kathy, this is the nicest post. I'm humbled that you wrote this up for me. It was a great day, and it's been so amazing to see how many people were giving me the mental push that I needed. The only sucky thing about the day was not sharing it with you, who have been there and had my back from the beginning. But we have *many* more races together before they shovel us into the ground. Do burro racers need a crew?!

    1. I couldn't be prouder, my friend!! We were all there with you in our goofy little ways. I so wish I could have been there and then enjoyed celebratory cupcakes with Tara. But how great that you got to spend this weekend with your mom! And, yes, there is a lot of milage to cover between the two of us! ABSOLUTELY, burro racers need a crew!!!
